Paul A. Kaufman is an accomplished Emmy Award winning director and producer. Kaufman produced and made his directorial debut on the movie "Run the Wild Fields" for Showtime, which received critical acclaim and won Kaufman two Emmy Award s for "Outstanding Direction" and "Outstanding Children's Special". The dramatic story followed a North Carolina woman and her daughter who take in a mysterious drifter to work their farm while the woman's husband is missing in action during WWII. The movie stars Joanne Whalley ('Scandal'), Sean Patrick Flanery ('Powder') and Alexa Vega ('Spy Kids'). He just completed principal photography on the movie "Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story" which stars Poppy Montgomery ('Without a Trace') playing the title role of the famous woman who wrote Harry Potter. Movie is scheduled for release in July 2011. Kaufman recently completed directing "One Angry Juror" for Lifetime Network. This courtroom drama stars Jessica Capshaw ('Grey's Anatomy'). He also recently directed the critically acclaimed and highest rated movie for Lifetime Movie Network called 'Sins of the Mother' starring Jill Scott ('No. 1 Female Detectives Agency') which won two NAACP Image Award s - Jill Scott for Lead Actress Performance and Paul for Best TV Movie or Mini-series. Kaufman directed the award winning movie "Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story" for Lifetime Television. It is the dramatic true story of a Puerto Rican woman who does not believe her daughter perished in a house fire in Philadelphia and finally six years later finds her. The movie stars Judy Reyes ('Scrubs') and Ana Ortiz ('Ugly Betty'). He spent a summer in Toronto, where he directed "The Bridge" a new series for CBS Network and the highly rated and critically acclaimed "Flashpoint" also for CBS. Kaufman produced and also showed his versatility as a director with the CBS comedy movie "Surviving Gilligan's Island." It delivered the network's best Sunday night movie performance in three years. Kaufman produced and co-wrote several made-for-television movies including "Thirst" starring Adam Arkin, Joely Fisher and Giancarlo Esposito for NBC and "Emma's Wish" starring Joanna Kerns and Della Reese for CBS. Also for CBS, Kaufman produced the highly acclaimed movie "Jewel," which starred Farrah Fawcett and Patrick Bergen and was based on the novel by Brett Lott, which was picked by Oprah Winfrey for her book club. It was nominated for the Humanitas Award . Kaufman directed the Lifetime comedy movie "7 Things to do Before I'm 30" starring Amber Benson ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer') and also directed "Honeymoon with Mom" starring Shelley Long ('Cheers) and "My Name is Sarah" starring Jennifer Beals ('L Word').
